To earn credits in our software and for inclusion in the TCO filter library, please ensure your air filter test report complies with the following terms and conditions
1. Testing Laboratory & Filter Specifications:
- The filter must undergo testing at an Independent Filter Testing Laboratory.
- The testing should align with one of the recognized standards: ASHRAE 52.2, EN779, or ISO 16,890.
- Ideally, the filter should measure a nominal 24 inches x 24 inches in height and width.
- The test's face air velocity should preferably not surpass 492 fpm.
2. Essential Report Details:
Your report must encompass:
- Details like Test Lab Identification, Telephone Number, Test Number, and Date.
- Filter Manufacturer's name and Model.
- Filter Part Number.
- Dimensions both Nominal and Actual Measured.
- Filter and Pleating designations.
- Frame Material and its design.
- Type of Media used.
- Estimated Gross Media Surface Area.
- Dust Holding Capacity.
- Initial images of the filter and its labeling.
- Vital Test Results: Pressure Drop against Air Flow, Dust Fed relative to Pressure Drop, Face Velocity, Arrestance, and Efficiency Ratings as specified by ASHRAE 52.2, EN779, or ISO 16,890.
- If the ASHRAE 52.2 standard's Appendix J was utilized during the test.
- The entity or individual commissioning the test.
3. Authorization & Permissions:
- Submitters need to clarify the commissioning party behind the test.
- A green signal from the report's proprietor is a must for submission.
- Filtration Advice (FA) will then cross-verify this endorsement.
4. Using Test Reports & Rewards:
- CFMs accrued from the TCO's deployment/sale of a Test Report are earmarked exclusively for TCO Optimizations and Comparisons and can't be cashed out.
- No promotional content should taint the reports.
- FA retains the right to employ the Test Report as seen fit. Only specific sections may be redacted, ensuring data integrity.
- FA will contrast the report's data against that from the independent testing facility.
5. Test Report Origins for TCO:
TCO's purview covers a trio of Test Report sources:
- One from the filter's creator.
- Another from a rival of said manufacturer.
- The last from a third-party, distinct from the two above.
A word of caution: More current reports will supplant their dated counterparts, recalibrating TCO metrics.
6. Protocol for Report Submission:
- In case of identical reports from varied sources, precedence goes to the first arrival at FA's desk.
- The TCO system emphasizes the "Dust Fed vs. Pressure Drop" parameter and adopts the minimum MERV
figures from the reports.
7. Filter Procurement:
- Filters must represent standard market specimens, sourced discreetly, keeping manufacturers oblivious to the impending tests.
- The essence is to scrutinize filters in typical user scenarios, shunning any specially curated samples.
8. By forwarding a Test Report, you signify your recognition and consent to the detailed terms and stipulations.
9. Filtration Advice reserves the right to modify the above requirements at its own convenience
